When was Ed. Opal founded?
Ed. Opal was established in 2024.
Why was Ed. Opal founded?
Ed. Opal was founded to help close gender and racial wealth gaps. Ed. Opal’s mission is to create greater equity in the world by delivering culturally relevant personal finance guidance to groups that the personal finance industry has historically overlooked. Who does Ed. Opal serve?
Ed. Opal serves anyone looking to increase their financial literacy, but we build and design with the unique experiences and needs of Black women first and foremost.
I’m not a Black woman. Can I still join an Ed. Opal course?
Sure! If the content resonates with you, and if you’re willing to keep and maintain this space a safe space for Black women, please join us.
Is Ed. Opal a non-profit?
No, Ed. Opal is not a non-profit. The impact we’re hoping to make requires capital and scale. Therefore, Ed. Opal was established as an LLC.

Course FAQs
What should I expect from an Ed. Opal course?
Ed. Opal courses are live, virtual courses hosted by an Ed. Opal team member. Each course aligns with an Ed. Opal course collection and is an hour long. You can expect at least one guest speaker in each course. Before the course begins, you can share and upvote questions via the Dory. Those questions will be covered in the latter half of the course. All courses are recorded, and recordings are shared with participants after the course ends.
Who are the guest speakers?
At Ed. Opal, our aim is to expose you to the people who can best support you in your personal finance journey. We bring in professionals from the Mental Health industry, Personal Finance industry, and Academia to ensure you get the most up-to-date and accurate information.
How much do course registrations cost?
Each Ed. Opal course is $45.00.
Do you offer subscriptions, memberships, or multi-course discounts?
Not yet, but these purchase options are on our roadmap! We’ll let you know as soon as these options become available.
What do I get with my course registration?
Your course registration gives you access to the Dory, which allows you to ask your questions in advance, and lifetime access to the course recording.
What happens if I need a refund?
We get it! Things happen. You can request a refund up to 7 days before the course date. Unfortunately, we cannot process refund requests made within the 7-day window.
I registered, but I can no longer attend the course. What now?
We get it! Things happen. You’ll still receive the course recording. If you need to request a refund, please do so at least seven days before the course date.
Do you offer group ticketing?
Ed. Opal offers group ticketing for organizations. Contact us to learn more.
